Wrangler Bermudagrass

Wrangler is a winter-hardy, seeded, forage type Bermuda grass.   Johnston Seed Company, Enid, OK has a license for the germplasm for which Wrangler was developed.  They are also applicant on PVP and assignee of Intellectual Property Rights.  Wrangler has demonstrated prolific seedhead production early in the growing season and greater seed production compared to the variety Guymon.  No foliar diseases have been detected on Wrangler or on it parental clones.   Also, no smut or ergots have been observed.  Forage data indicates dry matter production potential equal to Guymon.  Wrangler is significantly courser in texture and stolons are larger in diameter than Guymon.  Only Certified Seed will be offered for sale to the public.
