TAMRUN OL02

    Tamrun OL02 is a high O/L runner peanut that has excellent yield and grade potential and some of the disease tolerance that is found in Tamrun 96.  Tamrun OL02 is a sister line of Tamrun OL01 but it has a smaller seed that is more typical of currently grown runner cultivar such as Tamrun 96.

    It has been determined that a high oleic acid to linoleic acid ratio (O/L) in peanuts (and other crops) impart favorable traits into the peanuts (and other crops) after it is roasted.  Desirable attributed include longer shelf life of products, including peanut butter, peanut candies and roasted peanuts in and out of the shell.  Also there are definite health benefits from eating such products, i.e., more mono-and poly-unsaturated fat in the diet.

    Tamrun OL02 is a protected variety under Title V of the Plant Variety Protection act to be sold by variety name only as a class of certified seed - PVPA 1994.

    Four classes of Pedigreed Seed (Breeder, Foundation, Registered, and Certified) will be recognized.
