Roguing
(removing) undesirable plants from fields intended for seed certification prior
to field inspection is very important. Plants
that should be rouged out include off-type plants, prohibited and other noxious
weeds whose seed cannot be removed by conditioning such as wild oats in oats and
barley and other crop plants such as rye in wheat.
