Guar Seed Certification Standards

I.          Land Requirements

A crop will not be eligible for certification if planted where guar, other than a certified crop of the same variety, has grown during the previous three years.

II.         Field Inspection

Fields shall be inspected at least once prior to harvest, preferably after pods are well developed.

III.        Field Standards

A.        General

1.         Unit of Certification

The unit of certification shall be a field, but a portion of a field may be approved provided the discarded portion can be harvested separately and is eliminated from certification.

2.         Isolation

To be eligible for certification, a seed field must be isolated from fields of any other variety or uncertified fields of the same variety as follows:

A representative sample of at least two pounds as the seed is to be sold shall be submitted to the Association for laboratory analysis.
