HUTCHESON SOYBEAN

    Hutcheson is a Group V maturity (4 to 5 days later than Essex), developed and released by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with other southern states cooperating.  It has a white flower, gray pubescence, tan pod wall, with dull yellow seed coat and buff hilum.  It is a determinate, medium tall variety ( 6 to 8 inches taller than Essex).  Hutcheson is resistant to bacterial pustule, and soybean mosaic but susceptible to the soybean cyst nematode and root-know nematode.

    Hutcheson is a protected variety under Title V of the Plant Variety Protection act to be sold by variety name only as a class of certified seed - PVPA 1970.
