FLAVORUNNER 458

    A PVP certificate was issued to Mycogen Corporation/Hershey Food Corporation in 1997.  Flavorrunner 458 is a runner type similar to Florunner in growth habit, maturity, pod characteristics, and other agronomic characteristics.  Yields of Flavorrunner 458 appear to be comparable to Florunner.  Flavorrunner 458 exhibits an elevator O/L ratio (24.1 compared to 1.7 for Florunner).

    Flavorrunner 458 is a protected variety under Title V of the Plant Variety Protection act to be sold by variety name only as a class of certified seed - PVPA 1994.  Four classes of Pedigreed Seed (Breeder, Foundation, Registered, and Certified) will be recognized.
